Excerpts, Grammar Tips, and More
Each month we send out a free newsletter with video excerpts and grammar tips from Marie, as well as from her friend and language consultant, Thomas Hitoshi Pruiksma.
The newsletter is also a great way to learn about new releases from Cozy Grammar and to receive special discounts for subscribers—or as we like to think of you, friends of Marie.
Thomas was born in Seattle, Washington, and has lived and worked in Tamil Nadu, India, and Oaxaca, Mexico.
In addition to writing his own poetry and prose, he also translates from Tamil and from Spanish.
His books include Give, Eat, and Live: Poems of Avvaiyar, the first literary translation into English of this 12th century Tamil poet, woman, and saint; Body and Earth: Notes from a Conversation, written with the artist C.F. John; and A Feast for the Tongue: Forty Servings of Spoken Tamil with Helpings of Equally Spoken English, written with the scholar Dr. K. V. Ramakoti.
He was recently awarded a National Endowment of the Arts Literary Translation Fellowship for 2018 and is thrilled to be a part of Cozy Grammar.
